The Algerian American Cultural Unity Day
Dear AAAGW Members, Community, and Friends of Algeria,
As announced in a previous email, we are excited to share the details of our upcoming cultural celebration at the National Mall on June 29th, as we commemorate the independence anniversaries of Algeria (July 5th) and the United States (July 4th). Hosted by the Algerian-American Association of Greater Washington (AAAGW), this event will highlight the shared values of freedom, democracy, and unity between our nations.
We are now opening the opportunity for suggested donation tickets to support organizing this event. Your generous donations are essential to make this celebration a success. Suggested donations are as follows:
- VIP Adults: $75
- VIP Kids: $35
- Members Adults: $45
- Members Kids: $25
- Non-members Adults: $55
- Non-members Kids: $30
- Students: $25
Each ticket includes a seat, a snack, and a soft drink.
The event will feature various artists and music genres from all regions of Algeria, including Cha3bi, 3assimi, Kabyle, Chawi, and Malouf. Join us for an evening filled with music, art, and a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, celebrating the rich cultural diversity and unity of our communities.
The exact address will be shared shortly before the event. Keep an eye out as we will be adding more information as it becomes available. We look forward to celebrating with you and making this event a memorable one.
Volunteers get a % 50 discount. To qualify please send an email to president@aaagw.org. When sending the email please provide your first name, last name and your phone number. This will allow you to be added to the volunteer list.
AAAGW Kids Music Workshop – Sign Up Today!
Dear AAAGW Community,
The AAAGW Board of Directors is delighted to announce the upcoming AAAGW Kids Music Workshop! Bring your children for an exciting and educational music experience with renowned music teacher and artist Khaled Abdelli.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, June 29th
- Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Location: Mary Riley Styles Public Library, 120 N Virginia Ave, Falls Church, VA 22046
(Library Lower Level)
How to Participate:
1. Visit our website to enroll your child and make your donation.
2. Specify that the donation is for the music class with Khaled.
3. Include the number of kids participating and the amount donated.
Suggested donations start at:
- $25 for one child
- $40 for two children
Please note:
- We need enrollment and payment via our website to have the exact number of kids. No enrollments will be accepted at the door or inside the library.
- Registration will close once we have reached the number allowed for this workshop.
- This workshop is open to kids ages 4-13.
The class will take place depending on the number of kids enrolling, so please sign up today and let your kids discover the joy of music from our homeland!

Election Day on September 07th, AAAGW is rescheduling its 2024 Annual Merguez Festival to September 8th, instead.
We appreciate members who reached out with this special request and we do understand the importance of fulfilling your civic duty. It is very important for the wellbeing and the future of our beloved homeland AlGERIA to VOTE! So please GO VOTE !!!
After that, join us on September 8th from 1-6 pm for an afternoon of celebration, laughter and connection.
Come and enjoy our popular Merguez Sandwich, music, and make long lasting memories.
While AAAGW strives to provide and organize the best events in terms of quality, consistency and togetherness, we will need your help to continue this mission.
We are happy to announce that this event is FREE for all ( members & non- members). AAAGW will provide the main elements ( meat
